Need help to buy a home in Harrow?
If you cannot afford to buy a home outright on the open market, you may be eligible to purchase or rent a home by means of one of the low cost home ownership products currently on offer (as detailed on the previous page). The Council promotes a number of low cost home ownership products to enable people to get their first step on the housing ladder.
If you wish to apply for any of the low cost home ownership products, you should register online with Housing Options at www.housingoptions.co.uk . This website has information about all the low cost home ownership products that are currently available. Alternatively you can contact Housing Options by telephoning 0845 230 8099.
You should also register with Harrow Council, here on this website. To register with Harrow, click on the ‘New Application’ link above and fill in the online registration form. Once registered, you will receive information from housing associations about properties for which you are eligible to apply, as and when they become available. If you need a printed registration form, please contact the Housing Enabling Team.

You will also find some of these properties advertised on the Housing Options website.
If you are interested in any particular property that you see on this website, or on the Housing Options website, please contact the housing association that is offering the property, and whose details are listed with the property information. The housing association will answer any questions you may have and, if you are eligible, they will take you through the application process, including viewing the property and a financial assessment.
Please note that there may be more than one applicant per property, In this event, the housing association will offer the property to the applicant with the highest priority. The Council’s priority groups for low cost home ownership are in line with those of Housing Options and are:
Priority 1 – Existing council or housing association tenants
Priority 2 – Those with a high priority on the Council’s Housing Register
Priority 3 – Key workers
Priority 4 – Those living or working in Harrow
Priority 5 – Those not living or working in Harrow
